Like any other antique vehicle price depends on make, model, year of manufacture, level of restoration, rarity and just exactly how much someone is willing to cough up.
In the current issue of Supplyline there is a 43 Ford GPW that has done a lot of movie work for $22,000. A 44 GPW that needs some work for $8950 OBO. A 52 M-38 for $10,500. A 54 M-170 ambulance for $11,500 and a 61 M-151 project for $1,500.
E-bay certainly has variety, but you want to know what you are looking for and what you are looking at if you go there. No different then if you went to someones house to look over a vehicle you saw advertised in the paper. Some folks know exactly what they have and represent it properly. Some people have no idea what it is and simply pass along what they were told, right or wrong. Some people know exactly what they have and misrepresent it to the hilt looking for a sucker. And of course there are those who are simply nuts.
Do your homework first, then go shopping!
I now return you to your regularly scheduled aviation thread and yes the cement truck really is an Oshkosh. Pretty color scheme too.
