Just saw the ad for the auction August 23 and 24 at Greybull Wy by the Great American Group. Just wondering if anyone was going or knows of anyone going?. I have heard that the scrap dealers are going to have a easy time because scrap aluminum has gone way up and could bring more $$ than others looking to fly them?
any engine shops going, looks like tons of support stuff and engines etc
what do you think they are worth ( or not worth ) at $4/gal 100LL!
cheers
Simon

Awe man that's so sad. Is everything being sold off? Can't anything be saved?
I'd like to see a C-82, C-119, C-97 fly or just to see one up close...
Loving old props, ALWAYS.

I wonder if they still have the PB4Y-2 Side Blisters and bow turret. I have a photo showing them sitting in the weeds.

I would love to see the KC-97 saved since it's still in flying condition as most of the KC-97 there. It wouldn't take long to get them into ferry condition. The packet is flyable and hopefully somebody will take her. Several of the C-119 could be make ready.
I'm just glad last year that I made time to go see HP last year instead of waiting.

It would have been nice to have the blisters and turret.

"Twould be nice if the museum at Trenton could obtain one of the C-119s; some if not all of the H&P Boxcars were ex-RCAF and would have operated from Trenton in the fifties and sixties...Anyone got contact info for RCAFM nowadays? I used to have an email address for their curator but that person's no longer there...

Hopefully someone with deep pockets will scoop them all up so the scrap dealer vultures don't get them. That reminds me to get a Powerball ticket tonight!
