This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I'd just like to record a vote in the other direction.

A significant number of people left the forum because of Rob getting as much rope as he was given. It's notable that however much rope he was given, it was never enough eventually.

While his intent was good, he did cause significant real world problems and inhibited proper discussion among us, and caused a number of people professionally involved to walk away from the whole of WIX. I'd rather have their input.

If Rob agrees to abide by Scott's limits, and does so, then I too would be delighted to welcome him back. The track record's not good sadly.

Just my opinion, and not intended to detract from Rob's passion and efforts.

I was not going to post here because I felt that adding yet one more yea or ney would be like beating a dead horse. That said, let get out my baseball bat and see if I can't get the horse to take one more step.....

Having spoken with Rob here and on a couple of occasions in person, I really think he's a great guy. He is passionate in his beliefs and has no problem about voicing his opinions. He has always been genuinely helpful to me and I consider myself better off for knowing him. In short Rob is a great guy. I will even go so far as to say that Scott may well basically agree with that assesment, though I am not
and will not speak for Scott.

That said....

Once Rob has his back up about something there is no stopping him. Restraint goes out the window in a heartbeat. Sometimes this can be a good thing, but usually it creates more problems then it solves. I know as most of you do as well that Scott has cut Rob a great deal of slack in the past. More so then he would have done for most anyone else. There comes a time when you have to put your foot down whether you want to or not. I don't know what the latest incident was, only that it was the latest and I don't care to know.

I am hoping that at some point Rob can come back, but I do not know if it is a possibility at this point considering all the second chances Rob has had in the past. No matter how much you might like someone, you can only forgive them so many times.

Well, I've been whacking at this horse for a bit now and it hasn't budged an inch. I'll leave the bat right here for the next guy, but I don't think he'll have any more luck with this horse than I did.

Sorry Rob, short of a donation of several million dollars or a large multi-engined aircraft there is no way Mr. Rohr will be allowed back on the forum.

Does this mean that we can post Rob's photo in the mugshots thread again, only with the word "Banned" stamped across in big red letters?

It's really a shame that it had to come to this. I mean, who are we going to find to represent the warbird community in our dealings with the federal government?

Mr. Pattersdon...That was somewhat less than subtle!

I think you meant "Mudge the nimble fingered"

Scott, based on what I've seen, you have nothing but my support and respect for the way you handled this.

That's OK Scott, I understand. I would like to point out, however, that all the photos and quotes were originally posted by the man himself. I just presented them in a more condensed and timely fashion for our viewers.

For those of you who didn't get to see it, you can follow the link to:
While the overwhelming majority of members voted that it was not a personal attack, several members made some good arguments that it was a little too mean so I have decided to remove the link. Lets just be done with the whole Rob Rohr era. thanks for understanding Steve.
