Dik Shepard has been suspended for 14 days for disruptive behavior.
Rob Rohr has been suspended indefinately for disruptive behavior, personal attacks, and threatening this forum with more disruptive behavior.

I want to take a moment to discuss my actions. Most of you would agree with Mr. Shepard's suspension but I know Rob has fans out there. I am sorry you feel I am being harch on Mr. Rohr but he has continually been a disruptive and negative influence on this forum. I have gone out of my way to try and help him and allow him to stay. Unfortunately this has seemed ineffective and the result is a continual stream of complaints about his behavior. This is the last straw in a long series of straws (considerably more straws than I have given anybody else) and now there are none remaining. If you feel the need to leave the forum in support of Mr. Rohr then I regret this but wish you well. I will not submit to peer pressure on this. If you wish to discuss this with me then please do so in PM's or leave a phone number and I will try to call you.

Regardless of the individuals involved, I think it is important to set boundaries of acceptable behavior.

The WIX needs to continue to attract a broad cross section of enthusiasts to thrive. I have spoken to a few whose contribution could be quite valuable that no longer post here much (or at all) because of some of the rancor.

As an unmoderated forum we all need to temper what we say and try to get along. There will always be controversy, but we need to maintain respect for the opinions of others.

Keep up the good work Scott!

Thanks,

Brandon

I think the name of the forum says it best. "Warbird Information Exchange". To voice ones opinion and recpgnize it as an opinion is great and can open up interesting dialogue. But this is not the place to vent hostilities toward anyone or any group. I enjoy coming here and checking out whats up with other warbird nuts but sometimes I've had to cringe at some of the comments. I think Scott and the rest of you guys out there have a great forum going and it needs to stay positive and fun. I don't like to see anyone "banished" but if you can't keep comments civil, then we may lose some valuable contributors. Do what you must Scott to keep this forum going!!!!!!!!!!

Scott, I think you do a he** of a good job on here and that's one of the reasons I check this forum out at least three times a day. I may not post a lot but I do read it on a regular basis and I'm always amazed by the amount of knowledge that is pooled in this one place.

Thats similar to the unofficial motto of WIX

"Individually we know alot, together we know everything"

:)

Thanks for all the support guys, we appreciate it.

Sorry to hear it came to that, Scott... as a forum moderator myself, I know it's not fun to have to put the hammer down. But you must do what you must do to keep things on track, and even though I found Col. Rohr's stuff more entertaining than offensive (most of the time), I also support your decision.

Cheers,

Lynn

Our board is made up of many different types of folks with many different personalities. What we all have in common is the love for these planes, their lore, & the history. Its too bad that sometimes the focus is lost & pissing matches get going. Scott you do what you think is right. You have given us a great place here. Please keep up the good work. Gonna miss ole Rob. Sure was fun to see him get fired up.
Robbie :f4u:
