Westover ARB Open House Pictures

Mon Aug 16, 2004 9:07 am

I posted some of my pictures from the Westover ARB in Mass this weekend. Don't expect too much, they a/c flew too far away and into the sun the whole time.

The show I think suffered from the storms that we’re running up the east coast. They had 3 FA-18, 2 T-37, 2 T-38, 2 A-10A, 2 C-5A, KC-10A, KC-135, C-141B, C-130H, F-16C, P-3C, B-52H, 727, C-17A. T-6A. I maybe missing some of the Modern stuff But I don’t think any one will complain.

War birds were very light. P-51D Glamorous Gal, FG-1D Sky Boss, AD-4NA Naked Fanny, L-39 (forgot to post that picture, I will fix that when I get home), B-17G Yankee Lady, SNJ-5, SNJ-6, C-47, TBM-3E.

You have some great pics there, Tim. I know mine wont be so pristine- too many people moving all around. I'm sorry I missed you, but by the time I made it to the warbird area(1 1/2 hrs from I90 to the warbirds  ) I was well past 1100hrs. Next time!

I got to the show about 8:15. we where able to jump right on the field with no real wait. I also did not get to the war bird area until around 11. I took a few shots but went back during a few of the shows to get my shots I posted. It was sad there was no WIX meeting there. Next year (or 06)

Tim, where were you standing when you took the T-6 and T-6II shots? the perspective looks similar to my own. Also where were you when they set off the "napalm" attack? Did you loose any hair or body parts? I was up near the C-141 and nearly got a flash tan out of it! That wall of fire must have been about 200ft long! I guess that's what happens when you have extra pyro to expend! 8)

I was on the fence right in front of the 2 A-10s. There were some poeple next to me, about 20 ft south that had some big antenna stand sticking up over the crowd.

No I was too far away for the wall of fire to feel any heat. Or flash burns
