A message to Pratt & Whitney Connecticut-based employees

Dear colleagues,

On Thursday, April 24, a unique WWII-era plane is taking to the Connecticut skies, passing over Pratt & Whitney’s East Hartford and Middletown facilities.

Employees are invited to stand outside to view the East Hartford and Middletown flyovers if your schedule allows.

What you need to know:
• Date: Thursday, Apri 24
• Time: 9:00am – 9:30am
• Locations: Middletown (~ 9am) and East Hartford (~ 9:05/9:10am) sites
• Aircraft: Douglas R4D-6S
Please note times are estimates and could change based on weather or other circumstances. To stay up to date on the status of the flyover, visit Pratt & Whitney's 100th Anniversary RTXConnections page.

Ready 4 Duty
Known as “Ready 4 Duty”, the Douglas R4D-6S is the U.S. Navy’s version of the legendary DC-3 airliner and C-47 military transport aircraft, powered by Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp engines.

“Ready 4 Duty” is on route to Europe, as part of a 12,000 mile “Navy to Victory Tour” organized by the Commemorative Air Force, which takes place across 7 countries from mid April – mid July, marking the 80th anniversary of the Allies’ Victory in Europe in WW II. Pratt & Whitney Military Engines is sponsoring the initiative.
