This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

The new 2024 American Heritage Museum / Collings Foundation Annual Magazine is here! Interesting info and details about the museum's past year of operation and the news of a SPAD and IL-2 acquisition and restoration. No word though on the expansion and what that will look like eventually.

Surprised there was no mention of the F-100 being returned to flight status. The Skyraider, Spitfire IX and Hurricane XII also each flew in fall 2024. I'm curious as to what the plans are for these aircraft. Maybe the propeller-driven aircraft are just getting ready for ferry flights to the museum? Are there plans to keep the jets airworthy in Houston?

My hope is some of the single seat fighters are at least kept airworthy and operated from the grass field for special events. It appears the smaller (less expensive) stuff will stay operational (i.e. Stearman, PT-19, L-5, L-4, Storch, Goose, etc.) That's about the best we can expect I suppose for now.

Had the honor of painting the nose art on the Hurricane. There has been some pretty cool acquisitions that will make the new museum quite the taste of England.
