It has just been posted on Facebook that Richard Grace has passed. A big loss for the warbird community. Thoughts are with his family.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1189833 ... 269220151/

"We are profoundly sad to announce that on the evening of October 15th 2024 Richard Grace lost his stoic battle with ongoing illness.

Richard leaves behind his wife Daisy, their two children Allegra and Stirling, and his sisters Olivia and Nicola.

More information will be given when appropriate.

His immediate family, and his wider family at Air Leasing and Ultimate Warbirds Flights, would like to request your respect in giving them the space and privacy they need to grieve this terrible loss."

I never met the man, but this news is devastating. I've followed the Grace Spitfire - and thus the Grace family - for decades, and from everything I saw and read, he was such a vital member of the small world that keeps warbirds flying. The loss to the warbird world is almost incalculable. And he was so young, with so many more years to contribute to his family and the flying community. My sympathies to his family, I hope they realize how widely this news touches people around the world.

The link in post #1 probably won't work, but the message was posted in this Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/118983335150/

Very sad news!

Sorry to learn that.
As a very long time reader FlyPast, I've read about the family's warbird activities.for years.
Sad that it comes on the heels of his mother's passing.

You would think that this family has dealt with enough sorrow over the years. Both Nick Grace and Carolyn Grace passing away after car accidents, 34 years apart, and now Richard losing a battle with cancer. I too thought that Carolyn's accident was fairly recent, but I saw it was in December 2022. Time flies... such a shame that it takes so many good people away from us as it flies by.

Oh this is just awful news.
Far, far to soon has this gifted and talented man been taken.
My deepest sympathies for his family, friends and all in the community who feel his loss.
