Where is Invader N167B ?

Discussing A-26s flying or being restored in Europe, as Millionaire ´s one has been touring the Old Continent, the topic of the Scandinavian Historic Flight N167B arise… and we wondered with a couple of friends where it is situated now… ?

Last heard of with an owner in Sweden it seems - I think it was at Flying Legends perhaps 10 years ago.

Is it undergoing a major overhaul?

What happened to the Cadman Brother's Invader - it was being rebuilt at Southend in the 1980s and after a period of storage in the UK seems to still be under restoration in France - to fly?

Good question, it's been a while since I have seen it at an airshow but that could also be because I don't visit all that many of them. N167B is still registered to 'Sugarland Express Inc Trustee' in Delaware, which is the usual way to have a US registration available for a Europe-based airframe.

Air Britain have pics of N167B at Flying Legends 2008 - further back than I'd have thought, but then most things seem to be these days!

It's currently at Andøya Airport in Norway. It was sold to a new owner in Germany last year though has yet to relocate.

Thank you FuryFB11. So status has not changed. But I had forgotten location…

Hooligan2, as for the Cadman Brother's Invader, it is being retsored to fly in Lyon-Corbas by a dedicated volunteer team that is making a top quality job. Fuselage is nearing completion as I am writing.

I think you might find that one of the A-26 pilots (a commercial pilot) went to Andøya, but with his work related steed. The Monarch is still at Torp. They did take it out recently to perform an engine run.

So, probably not long before it leaves these shores.

So, 36 years and a few months after N167B first arrived in Norway she has finally left. It was a nice acquaintance for those years.
