Mid morning April 25th I received word ...we've lost Snake45...and yes, I ...was the one that made contact with him in his hospital the last time he was off forum. It's what friends do!

"Snake"..... was a well known name on the board. Never shy to offer a compliment, suggestion, advice or a spare needed part. Possessed of a unique sense of humor, sometimes he pushed the boundaries but not afraid to speak his mind.

Friend and compatriot to some, thorn in the side to others, he was unique in style and demeanor. He will be missed by many of us, remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Just because some snow flakes get their points bent....is not change what is becoming of this world .

Rest in Peace my friend!!

Just recently helped him contact Scott Rose because he was having trouble accessing WIX; hope I was some help. I'll miss him.

I had numerous interactions with Snake, as he was keenly interested in Skyraiders, to the point that he had built some spreadsheets tracking tail numbers and antenna configurations. He was one of the few people who knew the Collins part number for the white VHF sharkfin antenna seen on USAF A-1's and I made sure to send him photos when Cavanaugh's H-model finally got hers installed; he may have been the second-most-pleased person in the country, after me. I learned a lot from him. I also learned that he was very particular about choosing his own path, what he would share, his privacy, etc. I was also amazed at the number of online forums where I'd come across his posts. I don't participate in many, but I do go down the occasional rabbit hole when researching, and there he'd be, cars, shooting, modeling, whatever. Pretty amazing. RIP Snake45, you will be missed.

Ken

Sad news indeed and a significant loss to a great many Internet forums. Snake would reach out to me often for research assistance, advice given and advice taken and to just express his appreciation for contributing to his passions. Always sad to lose fellows like this. Snake was a great example of what an internet forum contributor could become in time. Great source of knowledge, great giver of advice, great at deciphering the real meaning of other people’s comments in posts and humble at times, stern on other occasions, but always the ever present friend on a forum. His posts were always informative and helpful. If I recall I invited Snake here to the WIX forums and if that is indeed true, I’m grateful I did.

Richard will be missed.

Likewise, I had forum interactions with him. Very nice guy.
RIP.
