I tried editing
OpenStreetMap the other day for the first time. I since went through and added or edited a bunch of aviation museums. This got me thinking: could I use the results to create layout maps? The one for Planes of Fame always confused me because the buildings were out of proportion, not accurately shaped and had incorrect relations to each other, so it made it somewhat difficult to determine exactly what and where each one was. I exported the relevant OSM data as an SVG file and edited it in
Inkscape. I wanted make it resemble the original in most possible ways aside from what needed to be fixed. For comparison, the original:

I think it came out pretty well!
EDIT (24-05-25): Updated the design of the map to resemble the original a slight bit more.
EDIT (24-05-26): One additional minor change to the map.
