If you're that old, deflect any criticism by saying you're using the Sumerian calendar. :D

If anyone is planning to attend, please let us know how it went...and if people really paid $150 for parking.

Well a friend said they were wanting to go, so I pointed out the ridiculous restrictions on attending. I then checked and all the general admission parking slots were sold out for both days... people must be desperate for an airshow here in Indiana. They must not know about Dayton, and miss the Grissom and Sellersburg shows which haven't happened for years.

Looks like plenty of tickets left, including general admission https://event.attendstar.com/event/show ... show-2023/

Me, I'd be looking for a good perimeter spot about now

The tickets went away and then came back a couple days ago. The lineup seems thin based on the website and 50% chance of rain last I checked. Still on the fence about going.

They are discounting group tickets now, apparently due to the addition of a new parking lot. Here's the post with more information.

If these had been the prices all along, I might have considered going - but now I have other plans for the weekend and the weather looks iffy anyway. $87 for three tickets and parking is reasonable and about what I'd expect to spend for three admissions and parking at an event of similar size. I can't imagine the people who already paid $150+ are very happy with this new development, however. I'd be pretty annoyed if I'd paid $150+ months ago thinking that would be the best rate, only for this price drop to happen a week before the show. Normally, buying tickets further in advance offers the best rate.

There is also a local church that is offering a $10 rate to park and watch. I personally don't think sitting outside show grounds is ever worth it, but to each their own.

Miss out on static, which granted is a deal breaker for some, but thats all you miss. You don't get raped for food/water, don't have to walk 3 miles, don't have to sit out scorching in the sun ,, And especially with a show with the Angels, much better views can be found off base. For those [like me] who feel slightly guilty leeching, you can always donate, or just buy a ticket.

Anyone that went have a report? Can't imagine anything flew Sunday and the ceiling was so low Saturday I don't see how much was visible.

I went Sunday because I had to work Saturday. I got there not long after gates opened and couldn't have hoped for better parking. Nothing flew, the ceiling never got better than 500 overcast. Some of the performers departed IFR in the afternoon and disappeared within seconds of leaving the runway. They pulled some planes to show center and interviewed the pilots so at least we got to see a few run. The C-47 did a high speed back taxi on the runway, Rozendaal ran up the CAF P-51C briefly. Miss Mitchell warmed up, did a full run up and taxied to the hangar when the rain started again around 3:00.
