Been a bit of a Warbirds and Classics fan for many years, some of those I have bumped into.
There is an ex south American based Catalina being restored at the old RAAF
base at Rathmines on the east coast of Australia, these pic's from my first visit.

In 1942 the Japanese attacked a number of moored flying boats carrying evacuess
from Java, the remains of a RAF Catalina at Roebuck Bay, Western Australia .

A boat that flies with the remains of a flying boat.

Photo taken not long after the time of the raid, burning Catalinas, Dorniers and
Empire Class boats on Roebuck Bay with the town of Broome in the back ground.

Maintaining the feline theme the Catalina displayed at the Aviation museum at
Bull Creek, Perth, Western Australia.

Bull Creeks Lancaster nose art.

Percival Proctor.

Australian made CAC Wirraway.

Another local job, Wackett trainer.

One of my personal favourites the ex RAAF Spitfire MkV trop housed at the South
Australian Aviation museum.

Very authentic static restoration has every correct part as per a wartime machine,
only missing the parachute flare set up, if anyone knows where one is please
contact me.

Has a zero timed, apart from factory run, engine fitted.

As found in the 1970s.

The museum is also restoring a Fairy Battle recovered from the sea.

Another South Australian static restoration.
