In-case anyone was wondering, the pilots were Steve Hinton and Stewart Dawson, with Jeff Whitesell as flight engineer (Steven Hinton flew as chase in the P-51). For the record, the test flight occurred Tuesday night (June 20th).
The aircraft will be flying to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh next month, and as was also shared in the Oshkosh thread, there is this brilliant HD video of the test flight on Youtube:
I first saw that aircraft in Oct. 69 when I showed up Ft. Rucker for the second half of flight school. I was surprised to see an Air Force plane at an Army air field. It was still there in Oct. 90 during my last transition. They also had an AP2V Army Neptune there in 1990.
