The footnote says open for two years and then the entire collection moves to AR. Perhaps that can be interpreted as Mr. Walton is building a new facility. Someone else stated that it would not reopen until 2024, so I guess we have to wait for the next official press announcement.

In the long run, I think this collection will do well in Arkansas. Well done by Mr. Walton.

I am especially interested in the Me-262 that was so close to flight and the Stuka.

What I read that was interesting is that there may be some additional aircraft displayed? Wonder if that could mean one or two planes that were in a good amount of restoration when P Allen passed away. Ju 87 and Me 262 come to mind.

Regardless it will be nice to visit again before the official move east.

That would be AR not AK... and I guess if it goes to Arkansas, I'll have to carve out time for a trip!

I wonder if some of Mr. Walton's existing aircraft may be displayed alongside the rest of the collection - Super Corsair, 2x P-51s, Spitfire, F8F, etc.

While on the topic of ex-Allen airframes...
Anyone know the status of the projects which were apparently not part of the same sale?
Specifically, the B-17.

Rarely (if ever) mentioned is the FHC F-86A (genuine ex-Korean War veteran), which was under restoration to fly but otherwise is MIA...

That was registered to Echo Matrix LLC. That's what Mr.Walton's personal collection is registered to.

Fantastic news! I seem to remember mention it would be open until September...has there been any clarification on that? EDIT: I've emailed the museum and will relay any answer.

Did I see somewhere that the Stuka was purchased by someone in Switzerland?

The museum posted a video clip on their Instagram page on 4/12 with the Stuka shown. It shows their mascot Sherman pretending to turn a wrench on the Stuka and says the museum will be opening soon.

First I've heard of it, but I've not been online as much in recent days.
