Off-topic request here: I've had an old WWII A-11 leather flying helmet in my collection for 25 yrs. The following is written inside the helmet: A.G. Smart - O-737878 1st L.T., A.C.

Anyone have any resources that they could lookup the name and associated service number? I've had no luck on Fold3 or Ancestry. Any help is much appreciated!

Yep, the latter FindaGrave is him. Small world...I lived with his WWII helmet 45min away from him when I lived in CO Springs, CO from 2008-2012. If I only knew then...

Thanks so much for the assist!

For context, I purchased the helmet, B-8 goggles, and oxygen mask at a militaria show in Kansas City, MO back in 1998!
