Surplus Warplane Transfers to Schools 1945-1948

New to the Aero Vintage Books website:

We have compiled a list of RFC and WAA transfers to schools, communities, and non-profits during the period 1945-1948. The list currently consists of about 125 aircraft at this point but hoping to grow it from contributions from readers. Just yesterday I was looking through Flickr and I came across a group called "Airplane Parks" dedicated to aircraft placed on display in public parks and/or as playgrounds. Maybe you could make a list of them next.

Thanks for posting these. They all appear to be 1943 transfers from the AAF so not RFC transfers. I will add them to the list with that caveat, as several other direct AAF transfers are also included.

Oh I would dearly love to know what happened to those Vernal airplanes. Probably scrapped, or maybe sitting in someone's barn in the Uintah Basin somewhere. . . DOUBTFUL''
