Even if they fail, a recovery effort could be educational, and why not try?

I would imagine the reflex answer from the various authorities would be "no".
So IF they approve it, that would indicate that the recovery operation has their act together and it would not end up like the Lake Washington PBM attempt.
In that case, why not give it a try?

I wondered with the passing of Paul Allen if anyone would pursue these aircraft. It would be pretty incredible to see the process of recovery. I have dreamed for years to see a TBD... the the rare and extinct aircraft has always interested me.
