I think this Tony, along with three (?) Zeros and the Judy that the POF now has all came off of some island in Indonesia, salvaged by a guy named Bruce Fenstermaker in about 1990. There might have been some large pieces of Betty, too. I think the Tony that bdk is thinking of either went to Yagen or Weeks and was definitely in better shape.

Correct. All of those were recovered from Babo island by Fenstermaker in '90 or '91. FYI, the Betty was the one that was previously displayed at POF in Chino and subsequently sold to Vulcan/Paul Allen. After public display in Seattle, the Betty was shuttled somewhere to remain hidden from the public. I had heard rumors that restoration either got started or was about to start just prior to FHCAM closing up shop. Guess we'll have to wait for the new owner(s) of the Vulcan Aircraft before we know what's going on with it.

She's finally made it home. Guess I'm going to have to dust off my metric tools.

I'm going to go out there this weekend. I'll take some photos. It sounds like it's going to be raining, but I'm looking forward to laying eyes on this bird!! It'll be great to see the Hellcat chasing it all over the skies this summer!!

Just fantastic. I haven't had the chance to make it out to Granite Falls yet but the Fagen's and the museum they've built is certainly impressive. I'm excited for the Helldiver to be completed too. Now my question is, can we expect to eventually see a 109 or maybe a 190 to represent the German side? I know they have a 1:1 replica, but its not the same as one of the newly rebuilt 109s coming out of Germany, or maybe another Allision converted Hispano.

I went out to Fagen’s Museum on Saturday to check out their new Zero. Here are a few pictures from my visit.

Were all of those taken Saturday? I was there too and the Hellcat was up on jacks with all of the inspection panels removed.

No, the Hellcat picture was taken from my last visit there (I just added it to the Zero pics for a size comparison)

Looked through my pictures and found a couple more slightly different ones (only so many different angles you can take in the tight space)

After their purchase, they had “Sunday Punch” converted to a glass nose, and is now “Paper Doll”

My picture, and one I took off of their FB page…..

As pointed out, this is the one that had been on Paper Doll prior to her latest restoration. here are a couple of shots I've taken a while ago.
