Thats definitely the original tower. It was located on the southeast corner of the hangar on Jacksonville rd. It was replaced in the early 60's I believe, by a free standing one several hundred feet south of the hangar. It was a unique design as you entered it from inside the hanger floor and climbed a flight of stairs before exiting on the roof and climbing another flight on the outside.
If I ever learn how to upload photos, I will post some pictures of it and its demolition.

The second picture is definitely the flight line you see in the view from the tower. I have seen this shot before, its looking north towards Bristol Rd My mom had a box of pictures like this when I was a kid and now they like her are lost to history. I wish she had written the names of all the test pilots on the backs.

Sounds just like the hangar/tower that is still being used at Hope Ark.

By the way, the Newer Tower from Johnsville has been saved by the Delaware Valley Historical Aviation Association and is somewhere in storage at NAS Willow Grove.

The "New Tower" from Johnsville is still sitting on the ramp at the Old Willow Grove NAS. Deteriorating as we type.
