Hello fellow WIXers
Later this year I may (COVID depending) be participating in an expedition to investigate reports of WWII aircraft wreckage in the Central Pacific (sorry, not yet at liberty to reveal more details than that). One of the plane types known to have gone down in the area is the SBD-5. It would be extremely helpful for our team to have quick refernce to these period documents (Maintenance & Erection Manual and Pilot's Handbook) while in the field to assist with planning and identification. Does anyone here have PDF versions that they would be willing to share? Thanks.

I didn't see the maintenance and erection manual, but here's a link to the pilot's handbook:
Pilot's Handbook for SBD-5An SBD-3 pilot's handbook is also available from a thread on WW2Aircraft.net:

Try this outfit. I bought a large number of manuals from them, although not in the past few years. They were always very efficient and helpful and sell the digital manuals at a fair price. If you want paper manuals you can be looking at pretty expensive copies if you can find them at all.
