Did Douglas stamp the Construction Number on major components of the A-26? And if so in what locations? I am particularly interested in the fuselage.

You might wish to contact Scott Thompson at aerovin. He wrote an outstanding 191 page book on the Invader.

Based on my research, I cannot say definitively no. However, they applied fuselage numbers (sequential for A-26 production at Long Beach and Tulsa) to the fuselage nose so the msn did not appear externally during the production process. It's hard to imagine a reason for stamping the msn on major parts for each airplane during production. Many of the major parts (like wings) were built elsewhere by subcontractors and shipped to the Douglas facility and then assembled to the fuselages.
