Helps a lot because I didn't know there were tandem seats.

I still think it's entirely possible the command pilot sits in the carbon nose. Can't prove it though.

This is the most amazing project I have ever seen. And to see that he has done taxu tests as well - just awesome! I would guess Oshkosh 2024?? Incredible.

This project is insanely awesome. So excited to see the finished result. If only the Bally B-17 was repaired and flown with this one. Now that there is a mini B-29 and B-17, I'm hoping someone comes along and makes a B-24. It's bound to happen!

According to a 2021 article on the Jalopnik website, Bally was originally going to build a B-24 but he ran into trouble scaling it down, so he built the B-17.

Was high aspect-ratio Davis wing the issue?

If you're looking for a scaled down 4 engined bomber, Shorts did it with the Stirling... perhaps the plans are still extant?

A relic before computer simulations. UK firms built several sub scale test examples.
Not so many in the US, though a miniature flying boat was built (by Consolidated, IIRC)..and of course the small B-29 wing and tail on a PT-19.

The Shorts was made of wood, it was said to be nice to fly, it was scrapped in the war when its engines hit TBO and replacements were unavailable (Wiki says it was damaged, however C.H. Barnes' book on Shorts gives the engine story).

a surprising amount of U.K. wartime engineering drawings apparently survive.
