- why would you ship one section halfway around the world from the other section for restoration? Why not have one company do the whole thing?

Seems like a fair question. Might have to do with supplier capacity. There are also two restored SBDs at Chino for reference.

My guess is the old adage: "Many hands make the work lite." If they can parse out the project to multiple shops, they can get it done faster. I believe Yagen wants this restoration turned around in record time.

Great photo, Errol! I'm so pleased for the owner she has flown. And I believe this makes ten P-40s restored to airworthy condition in New Zealand since 1992.

Next in Pioneer's queue is P-40N-1 NZ3147 (which will incorporate parts from various other RNZAF airframes ex-John Smith). They are also working on the wings for John Saunder's P-40E, and another P-40E for a Dutch syndicate (both ex-Russia).
