Passing by Fort Worth Alliance Airport today, I saw one of ATAC's Dassault Mirage F.1 aggressors on final approach. First time I've ever seen a F.1 flying! Neato!

On the way to a dentist I saw 'Doc' in the air over Ellington this morning. The B-29 has been visiting LSFM the past few days thru Sunday offering tours and rides. It was nice seeing another -29 in the air over Houston again... :D

Last night, we were in the back yard with our pup and I saw three Apaches coming up the valley. I’d never seen any of these fly near us, but other types (especially SOCOM Chinooks and Blackhawks) are pretty common. Thankfully I had my cell phone on me at the time: https://youtu.be/pbfRIDrrl5Y

Yesterday I saw a full blown HH-60G Pave Hawk, most likely from the 129th Rescue Wing at Moffett Field. All decked out in vivid pink temporary markings and headed north. I'm not aware of any big fires directly north of us but Oregon is still aflame. We regularly see transport H-60s done up this way but but not so much the Air Rescue birds. This will give you an idea.

July 29...
About 10 miles NE of Spokane International, an unmarked EMB170 doing circles and ovals at 1500-2000 agl.

I went into FlightAware...and was told it was Honeywell aircraft. Some internet searching told me it was an early 170 (sn59) bought about 10 years ago from a defunct German airline.
Avionics testbed?

There was an red stripe on the fuselage which in retrospect did look like the Honeywell 757 engine testbed.
Now what it was doing in Spokane?

Several months back, I saw a Boeing marked 787 doing similar things at at similar altitude in the same area.
Likewise, in May I saw a 777X test aircraft (easy to identify...it had 777X painted on the bottom of the center fuselage) shooting approaches into GEG, so perhaps the the area's relative lack of traffic (and proximity to Srattle/Everett) played a role.

LSFM’s B-25 made two revenue rides.
The CAF Helldiver flying.
A P-39 or 61 on the Harco ramp.
Collings A-4 on the Vietnam War Flight Museum’s ramp.
NASA WB-57 on their ramp.

C-130 from the Minnesota ANG had a stop over in Stratford. Took off around 5:00pm after day one of our Whitehead Weekend exhibit. Saw two UH-60's (one with long range tanks) fly north up the Hudson.

Today around 11.30 am the B25 of the Dutch Historical flight (PH-XXV) flew passed by my house at about 1100 feet.
Checked my radar app and saw it was doing a flight from Eindhoven airport to Texel Island.
It was great to hear those engines once again.

And exactly a week ago also around 11.30 am four F16 that were flying east to west in a perfect straight line formation very close beside each other passed exactly over my house at no more then 1200 feet.
That was extremely loud and also very impresive.
Never seen them do that kind of formation at such low altitude outside of an airshow.

An hour after that I saw a Tiger Moth also at 1200 feet going very slowly in the opposite direction. I was lucky to notice that, as it definitely was producing a whole lot less noise then those jets.

Couple weeks ago, the day before Hurricane Henri was projected to hit, I was up in New Britain, CT exploring an abandoned High School with the girlfriend, when all of a sudden I looked up to see the C-47 "Placid Lassie" making a B-line for upstate NY. Turns out they were moving her to Schenectady to get her out of the storm's path.

And on Labor Day, the girlfriend and I drove down to Fort Tilden in Brooklyn to explore the old base (and a little bit of Floyd Bennett Field). While sitting in traffic on the Belt Parkway, a low rumble of multiple helicopters started getting louder. From our right came Marine One, along with an additional Sea King and 3 Ospreys in tow. They ended up landing at JFK for about an hour and then departed again towards Washington. Quite a sight to see.
