So Betty Haas's P-39 "Galloping Gertie" NX57591 did arrive still in civilian/race colors.
Still searching for a color photo of that paint scheme

The single-engine aircraft to the right of the P1Y "Francis" is the XP-51 that was eventually traded by NASM to the EAA Museum.
