B-17 crash bar?

B-17 crash bar?

can anyone tell what a "crash bar" is in a B-17 bomber? I know it has something to do with the engine or propeller controls in the cockpit.

My guess would be the emergency shut off bar that kills all ignition switches at once. We just called it the Gang Bar.
