Anyone up for an F4U-1A project???

Seems pretty complete and in very fair condition with loads of spare parts.

Anyone knows who is the current owner?

Shouldn't take more that a few million to get it in the air. I'm in as soon as my Powerball number hits.

Looking at this bit, I'm wondering how many projects are included in the purchase price.

A quick look thru all the photos, there's enough to build 1 flyer, probably 1 structurally complete airframe, but not enough to fully stuff it. Every center section that is good or reasonably repairable is another potential fuselage.

As a Kiwi I'm curious about the claimed RNZAF ID...especially as we never had -1As...

If you slide over to Platinum Fighters..you can currently pick up a PT-17, a BT-13, an AT6 and an fg1 and train like they did back in the day. Probably be less than restoring these hulks.

Looks like a broken turret perspex. Clearly from another project, or there is a variant of corsair I never knew about.

Seems like the perfect fixer upper for Chuck Wahl.

Possibly Bu49956/NZ5527 which was thought to be in the US?

I'm sure there is a B-25J out there that could make use of that Bendix top turret dome framing. I know Aero Trader can produce the plexiglass.

I'm guessing based on this photo, which was a -1D.

I just clicked on a link and the Corsair project has been removed from the Courtesy site.

If I had the money, I'd just ship it off to the Ezells in Breckenridge and have them call me when it's done.
