In fact the Chinese did find use for a turbine powered T-28 in the form of the T-CH-1 built in the late '70s and early '80s.

Look at the over-the-nose sight lines of all three of those just posted, and compare them to the various Enforcer variants...and you'll see where the PA-48 had big problems and would have required a substantial redesign to go forward.
The "production" Enforcer drawings looked a lot like that Super Tucano with the short down-sloped nose and the angled cockpit.

Please note that this is Taiwan, not mainland China.

Note the cut-down Aeroproducts steel prop blades! Not exactly a production detail.

Totally off-topic, but I went back to page 1, post 1 of this thread to clic on the trade-a-plane link and there is now the Balz Gunther full scale Spitfire replica N783GB asking 900K or offer. Just sayin'....

Does anybody know what prop that's off of or is a one off design? Looks like some holes on the tips for bleed air de-ice??

Steve, BDK says it's a cut-down Aeroproducts. You're seeing the open internal cross section in the photo.

Thanks airnutz, but what I was wondering was if that prop came off an existing airplane or was a one off. My hunch is its a one off prop.

I've read it was a cut down Aeroproducts Skyraider Prop.

0hr TT? But they say...
"BETTER THAN ORIGINAL... BETTER THAN AN ACTUAL RESTORATION!" Not with that paint scheme!
I also just had a look at the cockpit photos. To be polite I'll say it's rather modern!

Got a chance to get out to Pima last week. It would appear that the PA-48 is almost ready for display. Couldn't get any closer due to a line of barrels with plastic chain between them:

Apologies if this was already posted elsewhere.

Based on the painted over canopy looks like it will be going on outdoor display.
