New edition of "Riverdance! I think that that was on the Enterprise and it was bouncing due to nearby bomb strikes in the water. Not 100% sure, but that is what I have read a couple of different times! There are other images of that SBD hanging on the side of the carrier.

Sounds right. Imagine the ship heeling over 15-20 degrees in evasive maneuvers while being concussed by nearby bombs. That would definitely be the kind of things to cause an unsecured airplane to pogo-stick itself over the side.
