Fat Cat II is one of two Harpoons that are in the possession of a museum close to Lafayette, La. I thought one of them was going to be placed in the WWII museum in New Orleans.???

If posters are still active, please respond. My father was a crewman on this PV2 in the Navy. We had lost track of the plane when the museum closed in Lafayette. I would love to have any updated information! He passed August of 2018, but one of his proudest moments was seeing and flying in this beautiful old gal.

The last notes on the Warbird Directory has it in Abbeville, LA. A couple of wingless PV-2s are visible at the Abbeville airport on Google Earth...

This aircraft (both of them)was sold to an individual in So. Cal . I believe that Aero Trader sold them. As I understand, the center sections were separated. to make shipping then easier and less costly, and was told they are somewhere in Texas.

Thank you both! I just happened on this site. On the day of his discharge, he wrote his name and Knoxville TN on one of the interior panels, it was how the owners of the Combat Aircraft Museum found him. I visited Lafayette once. but the museum had already shut down and I couldn't contact anyone at the time. I was only able to see her in the airfield storage yard from a distance. At least now I have some information of her fate.
