Tell me what you think. I found it interesting an an interesting take on the subject (won't be more specific because of spoilers)

What I find interesting is that the end includes biographies of five people executed for war crimes and now buried at the Yasukuni Shrine. Why give these people in particular that attention?

Spoiler ahead: the animated video appears to show the same pilot being shot down multiple times before, apparently, "doing it right" with a kamikazi into an American warship. Maybe someone here with a better understanding of the Japanese psyche can comment on what the point of all this is? Is the person in the wheelchair supposed to be a surviving (or the same) pilot reflecting on all this, a la "Saving Private Ryan" (if so, why the multiple versions)?

I took it that the woman in the end is the wife/mother of the pilot, returning to remember and honor him.

the gist of the story is that the pilot is Korean, impressed into Japanese service as a Kamikaze pilot. The woman in the wheelchair is his wife coming to visit the shrine. this leads to him experiencing his mission, and then being transported to the shrine at his death. I take it that his seeing his wife but unable to get to her, then being dragged to the underworld before reliving the mission again. I assume this means his being a kamikaze means he is doomed for eternity.

I get the impression that the people listed at the end are presented as an example about how the war criminals are honored at that shrine, and I believe the creator thinks they shouldn't be.

I found the video to be interesting and covering an aspect of the Pacific war that I was unaware about. While I knew that foreign conscription was not uncommon in Europe, I did not know it occurred in the Pacific theater.

Also... Corsairs!!!!
