I believe that there is one Douglas B-23 Dragon flying. Are any of the other survivors being restored to fly? And if so, in the original bomber configuration?

I wonder if it's a Pe-2, rather than a Pe-8. But if it's actually an 8... my word.

The group with the flying Il-2 in Russia is working on a flying Tu-2 project. They bought a couple from the War Eagles museum in New Mexico.

I did find this article about a Pe-2 project too. https://footballcitymediacenter.com/new ... 51234.html

Back in the late 90s, a Pe-8 was discovered at a remote crash site in Northwestern Russia, Gerry recovered it in early 2000s and it's been under restoration since 2006 in Russia. It's not high on his list of stuff being worked on.

Wow! Thanks for the additional details.

Thanks, everybody, for all your help. I'll see where I can go with this.

One problem with doing an article and calling it "The World's Most Unusual Restorations" is that some rivet-counter is sure to write in, "You forgot the Mongolian Air Museum's Kreissenfasser Igor World War I night fighter. None were ever built, but the museum managed to restore one..."

Did Mr. Yagen also had a Russian TB-1?

I remember when they had the old Fighter Factory web page he had a picture of the crashed Russian bomber and a rare ME109E under restoration also.

Tell me more about this. Are you referencing the FHCAM's Ki-43? If so, I thought it was already restored. Or are you referencing another project? Thanks for any info you can provide.
