hey guys,dont know if this is in the right section,if not please move for me moderator?? Found a couple radial r985 motors the other day...no logs but are complete and stored inside with cowlings I think fit a Percival aircraft? All the accesorries look intack...any idea who might have a need for them? Hate to see them scrapped and turned into hondas....any ideas on their worth? you can text me too, thanks,cam...714 883 6171

They just don't look like P&W R-985's to me.
Maybe Alvis Leonides radials?

Alvis would make more sense if they came off a Percival. The Brits didn't use many American engines post war...they had their own engine builders and wanted to avoid foreign purchases to conserve pounds.
Several Prince/Sea Princes made their way over here in the 70s.
There was one at Van Nuys for years and another ended up on a farm in N. California. (IIRC).

I could be totally wrong on what they are boys, i counted 9 jugs and assumed....I looked all over for ID plates but didn't see anything

ya, i swooped that up for $50 for my 69 Hurst olds project that was missing a transmission....lol

thanks guys, joe helped me out, they are Alvis motors,guess the guy is sitting on junk? not much need for them i hear.....turbo 400s go from 50-1500$ depending on dates and original applications, LS6 and hurst olds trans' can be a fortune if the dates and ID tags state the correct info....wix is awesome, thanks guys,cam
