Were red spinners a safety requirement on RAF aircraft? It seems a lot of them have them.

I don't believe so. Most seem to have had Sky, but I understand the different Banff Wing squadrons had different colours. I've seen wartime photos of a Mossie in similar camo to PZ474 but with yellow spinners.

I managed to catch the last flight on Wednesday (the short one referred to earlier), it will now be dismantled and shipped. They put the rockets on for the final team photo.

Nice video. Mr Lewis seems like a nice guy and dedicated enthusiast. My vote for his next project would be to acquire the Paul Allen collection’s FW-189” Uhu” . This air raft was unique, maneuverable, and way ahead of it’s time.
Second vote would be to require either the P-47N or prototype Skyraider from the Soplata collection. Does he have a Thunderbolt? It’s a complete fuselage and engine only. The prototype Skyaider was flying in 1945 before the end of WW II. It’s complete but will need a total rebuild.

He does have a P-47D. Skyraider would be awesome, but with Rod’s money and the way he’s been growing his collection, the next restorations are going to be very rare birds. There isn’t much he doesn’t have, a Typhoon or Tempest would complement the Mossie very well though. I still hope he gets some planes back at Reno!

The Uhu project paired to Mr. Lewis would be great! A few years back someone posted a nice collection of quality Uhu photos in the field from, IIRC, the the forest area of Russian Front. As for Mr. Lewis and a Napier Typhoon or Tempest...Naw, a bit rich for his blood...
