Also, do we know if this bird is going to stay in Texas, or come back to Colorado? Ft. Collins is about 30 minutes from where i'm at, and I would love to go take some pictures. We haven't had a good Merlin running around here in a while...

Once it is done at the paint shop Lone Star Flight Musuem in Galvestion TX will be home. She will be keeping the LSFM Spitfire company both in the hangar and hopefully on the road this coming summer. Look for them both at Oshkosh and Thunder Over Michigan if all goes according to plan

It will stay in Texas. And will probably have a desert scheme.

It's good to finally see the Hurricane arrive at Hooks, she really looks good. It's been a long time coming.....I'll be looking forward to a few "Mean-N-Leans" at Hook's grill with that extra kick that only the presence of a Hurricane on base can provide.

They should paint it has Texan/RCAF pilot Flt. Sgt. Tex Barrick's 17 Squadron Hurricane when he scored 5 kills in Burma in early 1942 while flying alongside the AVG.

It's my understanding that the LSFM's Spit was painted in Wade's markings!!!???
Having the Hurricane painted has fellow Texan and ace Tex Barrick would be cool!!!

To tell you the truth, Jack..I brain-farted myself into that one. I see your point.
Elroyyyy...are you hinting LSFM will display the Wade Spitty AND the Hurricane
from his earlier days?

Wonder if the Hurricane will come home here to Colorado for its annuals? Capt. Eddie did his annuals here for a number of years on his Firefly at Ray's shop (had to take the prop off to get it into Middleton's hangar)...would be nice to see her return once in a while...have quite a few restoration pics from even the 'early' days of her restoration all those years ago, but never released them on Ray's request.....

Now just waiting for the Evergreen A6M3 Zero to be finished up a few hangars away at Skurich's place...should be a stunner when it's done...

Mark
