Hi All,

I’ve posted a gallery of images from my 12/17/18 visit to the Udvar-Hazy Center. It’s a small gallery of old faves, new artifacts and the goings on in the restoration hangar. Enjoy!

How are the fuselage sections joined together on "Flak Bait"? Thank you.

Lovely collection of photos - thanks for posting. Is it me or do those unrestored aircraft look sooooo much more interesting than the restored ones?

I can see in the corner of the photographs that the He-219 fuselage is in the restoration area. I'm assuming this means they are getting ready to mate the fuselage with the wings. Do you have any more info or pictures of this?

I asked a pair of friendly docents about the He-219 and the likelihood of seeing it assembled in the near future. They told me that the He-219 was in the queue BUT the main focus of the staff is the renovation of the downtown building and that will take precedence for a few years.

The gallery has more images of the various He-219 bits in the museum - click on the link to see the entire gallery of images.

Cheers,
PH

At the rate the NASM restores aircraft, it will be 500 years before they are all done. :(
