Knowing little about guns, I'm surprised the "Grease gun" was still in the inventory during Vietnam.

During WW2 a Lt. Col. Charles Carpenter installed bazooka launchers on his L-4H and is credited with destroying several German armored vehicles. He wasn't the first to do this as he was inspired by other pilots who had done the same. Seen a recreation of said aircraft at the Evergreen Museum in Oregon last July. His plane was known as "Rosie the Rocketer" Quite a Gunship

A friend of mine says he was a door gunner on an O-1 in Nam. He has pics of an M60 mounted and pointing out the right window

Piper offered a gun mount kit for the Super Cub that mounted on the struts on the right side for a flexible .30 etc.
The Cuban Air Force (both of them eventually) used armed Tri-Pacers
