This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Yep! All photos are gone for two reasons. One is the usual annoying reason that’s not worth rehashing and the other is a new reason that has to do with how Flickr operates for me on this website. Both are requiring too much time and effort.
Flickr isn’t the best answer for operation or security and posting photos on Internet forums is becoming more and more unwise.

Unfortunately, I was a witness.
The other morning (yesterday, 5/2/18?), there was a post on the P-36 thread where someone blasted Mark about using (obviously old) photos of P-36's claiming ownership and demanding credit for the photos. Marks answer was restrained, but pained. Shortly thereafter the entire thread disappeared.
Mark, I'm sorry. I have enjoyed your sharing of really neat (well, in my opinion) pictures that most of us would never see. I am grateful for the experience of seeing (and maybe downloading some of) what you found. Thanks.

Internet terrorists...

Thanks as always. I'll find another way to bring these old photos back to life. I also have a private emailing list that I send weekly emails to those who are interested and appreciative.

Yep been there too. I've previously had someone try to claim ownership of "USAAF Official" photos, when the said images were from my own collection!

I’m beyond sick of it. Internet idiots who claim ownership of 75 year old black and white photos. They buy and sell these old photos like trading cards. They piss and moan because their self obsorbed clueless lives don’t get the credit they feel they deserve. These idiots crawl up from their mother’s basements and claim ownership of photos taken before they were born without any proof or watermarks and with little to no knowledge or interest as to what they mean, only what they think they can sell them for. So many of the photos I’ve posted on this site have shown up on eBay it sickens me.
Watermark your photos you claim to own and/or don’t post or host them publicly. If you aren’t willing to do either then shut up and quite your bitching

How does one claim ownership of 75 year old images unless s/he has the negatives? I don't understand.
Couldn't 20 people have the same print and a 21st person have the negative? In that case, who has the rights?

Checked it earlier today and just checked now and they're still working for me. I'm using Firefox as usual.

Look forward to those every time.
Thanks Mark.

I reloaded these photos because many of you deserve to see them.

Thanks Mark: I note the rant before my comment has now been deleted.

Mark - thank you for putting them back up.
BTW, I can tell you why the bulges didn't work - they're in the wrong spot.

The US found out with the Haymaker mods that all you needed to bulge was the cheeks just behind the guns and it'd gain all the benefits of the Coanda effect.
