Can anyone post a photo of a post 1947 USAF Boeing PT-13D?

I am looking for any photos of Stearman aircraft with the post 1947 star and bar....and these would be period photos only. No restored planes.

Does anyone have such a thing?

A friend of mine did his flight training in the first post Stearman class of flight training. That was 1950 and they used the T-6G. My suggestion is to review the Peter M. Bowers photo collection. He was photographing old and forgotten aircraft decades before anyone else.

I'd like to see one too.
I never have seen one with the USAF star and bar.
Post '47 schemes on old types is an interest of mine.

I'd also like to see a post '47 Cessna UC-78 since Bowers says they were not surplussed until '49 (though that could have been merely a paperwork exercise).

In Bowers' U.S. Military Aircraft there is a shot of a post '47 L-4 (on floats!). And a Dave Menard book shows a rescue CG-15 from the same time period.

Yes, agreed. I have never seen pictures of the Stearman used that late...can’t wait for any of those types to show that late star and bar in a photograph!

I have a few other photos but I'll have to find them. I remember seeing a few in my folders of various locations.

A circa 1950 photo by Wayne Bancroft (courtesy of George Mihal of the Office of Image Archeology) of a Stearman biplane in front of the Chevalier Field control tower. Not exactly what your looking for though.

This one looks like it has the contemporary insignia on the fuselage, and previous insignia on the upper wing.

Of course, this may be due to the angle or glare on the wing.

Thank you so much! I am blown away, and really had not believed it was possible....it’s almost “from Jennys to Jets!

Wow, a first for me as well. Thanks.

I think the first photo might show USN aircraft. The Stearman looks yellow, and with its painted cowl, tail band and letter (not to mention lack of a US AT serial on the tail) bandthe T-6 gives me a Navy vibe.
Any opinions?

However, any photos of UC-78s, BT-13s, or Martin B-26s with red bars out there? I doubt if any stuck around that long, but in this hobby you learn to never say "never".
Or a B-24 other than the well known EBZ-24 (IIRC) ice research ship unattended up at Lackland and is now at Duxford?

The Stearman does have "N2S-(unreadable)" on the tail, so it has to be USN. Also has the Lycoming engine, so that might limit the dash number a bit.
