Not to drift too much further off the original post, but ~15 years ago Aviat (Husky and Pitts mfr) planned to build new Clipped Wing Monocoupes with an AEIO-360 engine. I believe, certainly among other issues, including if there was actually a market, they ran into some legal problems regarding who had the rights to the type cert and the Monocoupe name and shelved the project.
It will be interesting to see if the latest incarnation gets off the ground.
