Ditto that! Any photos of it on happier days? This one slipped past my radar and I found nothing else on the web... pop2

Not sure if this is the same airframe,
"134451 is under restoration at Reno/Stead NV (Dec09). It used to be at the Canyon State Academy in Mesa AZ."

Yes, that appears to be the same one. As I said, we got a chance to crawl around the tumbleweeds to photograph it. It's pretty rough. Wings are laying on the ground behind it, and the canopy is in the dirt next to the fuselage....but aside from the disassembly, it doesn't look any worse for wear than it does in the photo in the park. Hopefully something will come from it and maybe it'll see the air again.

Thanks Mike and Speedy! The "slipped past my radar" part of my comment meant that I thought this aircraft had been
restored, as per earlier reports, and had since had come to some hitherto previously unknown to me, grief... and now
resided in the field at Stead. Looks like the Cougar has become somebody's 'round-to-it.

Seconded! Thanks heaps Will! I don't remember seeing so many (awesome) photos after last year's event. I'm very grateful to you and others willing to share. :drink3:

You are welcome. I'm always happy to share my work. Once I'm done with all my pics I'll post a link to my Flickr album so everyone can see everything.

This year at Reno was a new experience for me. It was the first time I've been able to shoot from the Pylons, and that posed some new challenges in terms of shooting. It was perhaps the most challenging, frustrating and rewarding shoot I've done to date.

Sounds like Reno to me -- the most difficult shooting I've ever done.

I like the way you're processing those backlit afternoon pylon shots, Will. They're looking really good now.

Pete Zaccagnino apparently walked away from a bad one. He maydayed out of his heat this afternoon and landed out of sight in a cloud of dust. Per FB, he lost the canopy first and then had a flame out on final. The Vampire is totaled

Nothing yet on what happened...
Happy pilot is OK, Vamp may not be total, but sounds like a major repair if anyone want to fix it

Obviously not a warbird, but this shot was cool.

As I was processing that shot, I found another in it.

Nice job on the panning, Will. Very difficult to nail it so well that you can crop it that close on a shot taken at shutter speeds down in the 1/300th range.
