I don't envy you, there has been a lot of changes in the B-17 world since the 4th edition.
I have all 4, and won't miss the 5th.
(One of my minor claims to fame is having late 70s photos of working firebombers in the 4th )

Re the B-25 book: Did you ever find that file with the photo of N9622C/44-30243 in the "Gail Burchard Mobile Homes" markings?

May be dated on the some of the latest registry changes....but boy o boy there is a lot of research in that book.

Scott, I do hope you (mostly for your spouse) do not get P-51 fever......

I actually did a pretty good book on the A-26 with a companion book on the A-20 for Crowood in the UK many years ago. Both included material on the civil airplanes...not quite the detail of the B-25 book but quite a bit of stuff. Both were nice books, neither sold very well, and both are long out of print, sadly.

Seeing what used copies of the B-26 book go for tempt me into offering mine!
Sadly, I have a few too many books and my wife is always reminding me in a few years we'll have to downsize.....

This posting made me look at the A-20 book again. I enjoyed doing the research on that airplane because I knew so little about it and there was so little published about it. I had gotten into it a bit doing the research for the A-26 book, but I was able to get into the Douglas archives for the A-20 book and looked at some of the original contracts for the early DB-7s, plus the serial assignment/msn ledger (fascinating, to say the least). I was able to uncover a bunch of new material plus straighten out the serial number assignments and corresponding RAF serial tie ups for lend-lease airplanes. Then, at that time, there were thousands of Douglas photos in cold storage. I have since heard all that material was moved into the Boeing archives and I would presume access is much more controlled. But for me, getting into the files was a great opportunity, and I was also able to secure permission to use the DB-7/A-20 photos from Boeing.

A great unsung airplane from World War II.

Yes, both the P-70 and F-3.
