I was catching up on B-17 news on aerovintage last week and noticed Scott is essentially giving away his B-25 book for $10 including shipping. My copy came today and I've just had time to thumb through it for a minute but it looks great.

I'll recommend it for any fans of civil warbird use.
At that price, it's a steal.

Buy several as gifts....you should have seen my wife's tears when I gave her one for her birthday.

I appreciate the comments and the forum item. The book is a bit dated but I think the most useful part of the book remains that I was able to put together brief histories on just about all the B-25s that ever carried a civil registration, mostly derived from FAA registry files but also from the Canadian registry as well as numerous other sources. That part of the book has proven particularly valuable to me through the years. Lots of photos too, with chapters on B-25 tankers/sprayers, movie use, executive use, and more. It is admittedly a deal at $10 but I need to move my remaining stock of these books. Not as good a seller as the Final Cut series. B-17 is just a bit more popular, I guess.

Speaking of the Bendix B-25's, here's a nice thread ...
viewtopic.php?p=129839

and a couple of rare shots of one of the Bendix B-25's that is now "Betty's Dream".

Caption states: "Here's a picture of the Bendix B-25 Mitchell that Teterboro engineering used for flight testing of the PB-10 Flight Control system and various other systems such as radar.
From research I have done, this aircraft (#45-8835) was built in August 1945 and delivered to USAAF. The end of the war was declared in mid-August that year after atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6th & 9th. Consequently the USAAF had a surplus of assets and rejected acceptance of the aircraft. It was then delivered to the Reconstruction Finance Corporation in Walnut Ridge Arkansas for disposal on October 31st, 1945. After a brief period of private ownership in Florida, Bendix Aviation Corp in Teterboro bought it in June 1946. It was registered as NX69345 in 1948 and they owned it until 1966. My guess (purely a guess) is that this picture was taken in the early 1950s The PB-10 was already in service with major airlines in the mid 1950s, but development would have continued – eventually becoming the PB-20 in the late 1950s.
Bendix Field Engineering Corp (BFEC) in Columbia, MD took over ownership of the aircraft in November 1967 and operated it until 1972. It later flew as a tanker in Alberta and was sold to aircraft restorers in 1993. It was restored over the period 1994-1999 and renamed as “Betty’s Dream” and based in Dover, Delaware where it is flying today." (photo & caption: Paul West)

Caption states: "Teterboro winter picture courtesy of Gerry Scheil. An ice-encrusted B-25 we used to have in our flight test fleet at Teterboro airport. Circa 1955. This was obviously configured to test the PB-10 Flight Control - a forerunner of the PB-20 that was used on the Boeing 707." (photo & caption: Paul West)

It includes the three Bendix B-25s and about 200 other civil B-25s with encapsulated histories in the appendix section at the end of the book.

Also, a cross listing of owners to registration numbers and registration numbers to serials.

Scott, do you have an idea when the next Final Cut will be ready?

Scott, can you put the answer to Michel's question on the forum, please. I'm about 200 km west of Toronto and I would also be interested in a copy. Thanks.

Doug

Michel, it would be $15 additional (a total order cost of $25) to ship to Canada. You can order on the website and it will offer Canadian shipping and add the additional shipping charge in.

I am slowly gathering files together for the 5th edition but it is going slowly. Quite a time commitment in time and money to pull it together, plus there are a bunch of interesting things going on in the B-17 world and I'd like them to settle out a bit before I put it out. No firm time frame yet, but thanks for asking. This book first came out in 1990 so it is nice to know there is continuing interest in a new edition.

Scott, my copy of your civil B-25 book arrived today and after a quick skim through, I'd have to give it a two thumbs up. I'll find the time to take a closer look this weekend, but I would say it was worth the original price. Thanks for the deal!
