Re: Loudest / more painful airplane sound?

Respectfully Gents....

You are all dead wrong.

The loudest most painful sound, is the silence that ensues when these planes stop flying.

Random thoughts

The tremendous sound of twin J-58's taking a Blackbird to the heavens is gone forever....and that thunder was truly spectacular.
to think of the magnificence of a machine traveling at 3+ and being tracked by her vibrations across the earth's crust!!!!

The distinctive growl of an Mu-2 on a landing or a Cheyenne 400 going to work is a distinctive music particular to the Garrett, a much loved and
enjoyable power package for the lucky ones that flew them.

Phantoms are too beautiful to make harmful noise. I wish we could save them all....

Same with F-15's and (not as pretty) F-22's. But they do announce to the world in sound that
they are present and can't be beat by another aircraft. I also enjoy Eurofighters and would love to hear the Lightning!

thankfully there are still a few F-104's running in Florida....truly a soulful and melodious song should jet ever be considered having a "voice"

Concorde's Olympus, The Vulcan to the Sky, F-105 Thunderchief's...F-14's... So much that we cant here anymore or see in their element...

Reno racer sounds are wonderous....and yet you can find people that .....dont like the sound.

Anytime I'm paying for gas the noise is glorious.

In closing, I'm sorry, but Any jet or mechanical engine is a better sound than the silence that ensues when they cease running forever....

Anyone that hates airplane noise can go back to the Prius owners site and continue the discussion.

The APU on a Fokker 100 made my bones vibrate. Also T-37's taxiing around on the ramp, and the Harrier in a hover.

Gentlemen, I don't think anything can top getting stuck between 2 A-6E Intruders on both waist cats at full power, those J52's are howling banshees, hanging on to the tie down pads for dear life it seemed like eternity for them to launch, this was on the USS Ranger CV-61 during Desert Storm
