This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I was shocked to see it take off Saturday with the other aircraft in the EAA warbird show. I asked earlier in the week and they said it would not be flying in the show at all. Glad they changed their minds. It did two passes then landed. I have to say thank goodness for the Texas Flying Legends. The EAA warbird showcases this year were not very strong. I thought last year was one of their best, (Lancaster, Mosquito, home built Spitfire, Sierra Sue) this year not so much. The show overall was still fantastic thought.
Tora, TFL, Snowbirds and my favorite this year the Mars all add up to a great week. The jets at dusk I hope are now a staple of the night airshow. The wind Wednesday and Saturday were not kind to the Tora shows. In fact Wednesday looked downright dangerous as there was no wind and all of the pyro smoke just sat over the runway. Visibility looked terrible to me, but i am guessing it was blowing a tad to the west so the pilots could see.
Miss my Merlin alarm clock terribly.

We, along with 6 others, were happy to oblige Tuesday morning at 0600!

There were some at 0600 every morning, and I do recall Tuesday being especially noticeable! Somehow waking up to that is so much better than having to go to work. I was happy to see Sierra Sue out flying. If only we could get the sun to rise in the West as well for photos...

I am still working through the weeks worth of photos...
I've begun posting them on my Flickr page.
What show! It is like drinking from a fire hose....never enough time to see everything and everyone.
Woot!

How would you like to own that house?

Thanks for sharing the photos Zane they are gorgeous. Friend of mine (way down here in New Zealand) went along with a group of engineers and pilots and loved it. Oshkosh is on my bucket list. (So proud to see one of our old P40s winning Best Warbird too! An awesome job by the restorers)

Friday afternoon was some of the best vintage jet action this year! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful images. I am a bit partial to Sabre 361 but still love the MiG "My Little Poney" after burner tail...

Very nice pictures! Does anyone know why the A-20 wasn't at Warbirds in Review? I understand if there was a mechanical or weather-related reason... just was looking forward to it. Hope all is well.

I think an engine problem left them stranded before they reached Oshkosh.

Yes, they had an engine issue 100 miles out of Oshkosh and stopped there. Apparently Rod pledged to Connie to bring the A-20 next year and "whatever else they need for Warbirds in review" to make up for missing his appearance with it this year.
