This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I know the original plan was to have the aircraft as close as possible to original but that has changed a bit recently. I assumed they'd be using the same exhaust setup as Fifi but it looks like they've left the turbos complete. Can anyone confirm this? I fully understand the reasoning behind
not having them in place and that they're unnecessary today, but it's cool that they seem to have them in place. I'd love to hear the difference in sound even if they aren't using the turbos for boost, I can't wait to see Doc fly in person.

The exhaust systems on FIFI and Doc are virtually the same. They both have the turbo buckets in place. The turbine wheels are gone. The sound of both airplane's is about the same. We both plan to eventually do away with the turbo buckets and go with a collection box of sorts.

Congratulations on the first flight and for the crew to err on the side of safety first in returning so soon. Great job to the entire Doc team and the support from Fifi!

Next flight after Oshkosh.
DOC is light, slick and should go fast. I'll report on that after we have a chance to complete some more flights.

At least now you have 2 entries in the "Super Heavy Unlimited" Category. Maybe you guys can get the Mars down too and make it 3?
