Technically it is a pre-WWII, but there is a Lockheed Vega that Doolittle himself flew for Shell Oil that was just recently sold this past year.

The B-17 Liberty Belle, (Boeing 299Z) that is undergoing rebuild, was flown by Jay Zeamer MOH many times while performing engine test duties for Pratt & Whitney's big turboprop developments.

The ex-Connie Edwards 2-seat Buchon, now here in the UK, was flown by Adolf Galland during the filming of Battle of Britain.
