German Part ID Help

Sat Apr 23, 2016 6:20 pm

Hey guys

I have had this Hatch for quite a while now, bought at a gun show a while back. The guy told me Bf109 but I always had my doubts which a few people have confirmed. They suggested it may be Ju87 or Ju88. Does anyone have any ideas or even better confirmation on what it is?
I havent seen any part numbers or stamps but will re check in May when I'm back home.

It looks like a fuel access door from a 109. Some models had them on the left side of the cockpit just below the back corner of the canopy. I'm not a 109 expert so I can't tell you the models but someone will be able to.

If it is a fuel filler access door (that was my first thought) I would be willing to bet that it was a standardized design used throughout the German aircraft industry and thus could come from any number of aircraft.
