Not Precision Airmortive but PAP and the late Murray Griffiths from Wangaratta, AUS.
The P-40 was painted there and finishing touches done by Ezell in USA.

Lightning, I stand corrected but most of the work was done by PAP initially.

I had the pleasure of spending Saturday at the Heritage Flight training event at Davis Monthan AFB. The P-40M was the highlight of the show for me and I will apologize to Dan Freidkin right here in front of God and everybody for all the slobber that I got on his airplane! Hope to see it at Chino in a couple of months too.

Not a well known fact - Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Flying Officer (FO) Herold Fesler "Bud" Marting, MC, from Danville, Indiana, flew with No. 450 Squadron shooting down three enemy aircraft and damaging one. From my forthcoming book "American RCAF Warriors."

Cheers,

Tom Walsh.

Marting's victory list:

September 15, 1942 - Destroyed a German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter and damaged another at El Alamein while flying Kittyhawk Mk Ia EV160.

October 20, 1942 - Destroyed an Italian Macchi C.202 fighter at Fuka while flying Kittyhawk Mk III FR251.

October 23, 1942 - Destroyed a German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter at EI Alamein while flying Kittyhawk Mk III FR309.

Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) No. 450 Squadron flew Curtiss-Wright Kittyhawk Mk Ia's (P-40E's), Mk III's (P-40K/M's) and Mk IV's (P-40N's) in the fighter-bomber role during the North African campaign. When Marting arrived, the squadron was operating from Landing Ground (LG) 91 Amriya south and called themselves "The Desert Harassers".

Cheers,

Tom Walsh.

This flew to Chino yesterday along with 'Fragile but Agile' and *should* be flying at the airshow there in a couple of weeks.
